Concept First was formed by Daniel Jones and David Glassborow in 2001. We have over ten years experience of developing software applications for many different industries. We have worked with large organisations including IBM, NTL (Cable & Wireless), and Microsoft.

As a small company we can respond to your needs and develop to your time scales, not ours. We are a flexible organisation used to delivering work to tight schedules.

We are versed in many technologies and therefore we do not use one single tool for every situation but use what best fits the requirements of the business solution.

Dan Jones (Technical Consultant)

After achieving a Masters Degree in Physics at Exeter University, Dan spent the next three years as an Analyst/Programmer working for various organisations in the South West. Coupled with his experience as a contractor, Dan has an in depth and varied knowledge of the computer industry.

For the next 18 months Dan worked as a team leader on various software projects including a comprehensive work force management application, which provides features such as mapping, scheduling, mobile communications, and route directions.

Since starting Concept First, Dan has worked on a number of bespoke development projects, concentrating particularly on project management and analysis roles.

Dan's stengths include object oriented design and development using Visual Basic, SQL Server, and Access. He has used these skills many times to develop custom databases and administration software.

David Glassborow (Technical Consultant)

Dave worked and studied at Exeter University where he achieved a Masters Degree in 'New Generation Computing' and a Bachelors Degree in 'Cognitive Science'. He specialised in the study and development of Artificial Intelligence algorithms, which have been put to use in previous employment, providing complex scheduling of mobile work forces.

For the four years after leaving University, he fulfilled various roles, including team leader, developing administration and accounting software for the travel industry, and analyst programmer writing Graphical Information Systems for the engineering and water industries.

Since starting Concept First, Dave has been working on various bespoke developments and consultancy positions, especially in business analysis and technical lead roles.

Dave is an expert at analysing business requirements and designing complex computer systems, having excellent development skills in Delphi, Visual Basic, Java, and C++.
