The Business Accounts Online website provides SWW's business customers with online access to their account details, bills, and consumption records.

Concept First designed and built the website and supporting database with data feeds from the organisation's billing systems.

We maintain the system for SWW under a support contract.

Key Accounts

The Key Accounts system is used by SWW to track and therefore manage their top revenue generating customer accounts.

Concept First designed and developed the new Key Accounts system for SWW. The system now provides account managers with more accurate and complete details of large customer's accounts.

We are also contracted to maintain and support the system.

Appointment Booking

Concept First maintain and support Free Appointment Finder, an appointment scheduling system used in the Echo South West Ltd call centre.

The appointment booking software integrates with contact management software and Microsoft Outlook. It uses search algorithms to efficiently schedule appointments.

Large User Billing

Concept First designed and developed a billing system to produce bills for SWW's large user tariff (LUT) customers.

LUT customer sites often have many water meters and their bills are calculated using tiered rates. The Large User Billing system automates the consolidation of meter readings and production of bills.

This is another system that is supported and maintained by Concept First.

Key Sign

We created the KeySign application to capture and record signatures for employees that hold keys to company buildings.

The application uses touch screen technology that allows the user to sign their name using a stylus. The signature images are stored with other details about the employee and the keys they hold.

The system replaces the old paper forms.

When SWW replaced their Customer Management System (ICL Customer Accounts System) with a Progress database solution (RAPID) we were contracted to analyse certain existing business processes and replace them with new processes and software solutions to support the new CMS environment

NHS - Information Authority

Travel and Subsistence

Prior to the development of the Travel and Subsistence expenses system, the NHS Information Authority processed employee's expense claims using paper forms and spreadsheets.

The new processing system, design and developed by Concept First, takes expense claims submitted via the authority's intranet site (Digital Workplace) and processes them ready for payment.

The new system is more efficient and reduces the manual effort required to process claims. This in turn reduces errors and allows employees expenses to be paid sooner.

Sales Order Processing

The NHS Information Authority use this sytem developed by Concept First to process and record Sales Orders.

Once submitted, the sales orders are processed by financial accounts staff, then exported to the sales ledger (part of Resource) as invoices.

The system replaces the old procedures and paper forms, which reduces errors and reduces the time it takes to turn orders into invoices.

Accrual Processing & Financial Accounts

The authority had an urgent requirement to streamline their processing of accrual invoices and credit notes.

Concept First developed a simple database solution which integrates with the main accounting SQL Server database. This provides a quick and easy process leading to savings in time and costs.

We also maintained and supported various databases used by the Financial Accounts department. These include Job Costing, Payroll, and Management reporting systems.

With a move to a new Accounting platform, Concept First were contracted to assist with the evaluation and integration of a new system (Oracle eBusiness).

The Infocasa Property Development Database is a system developed and hosted by Concept First, which collates details of new properties and makes those details available to estate agents and their customers via the internet.

The system also provides customisable web pages that member estate agents can integrate into their own websites.

Head Turn is a system developed for testing children as part of the infant studies unit at the university.

Guild of Food Writers Website

The Guild of Food Writers is an organisation of enthusiasts that have a website which they use to share information.

Concept First were asked to develop the database aspect of the website to allow quick and easy updates of guild members. The On-line Members Directory uses this database.

We also provided consultancy on dynamic web page development.

The Institute of Consumer Sciences represent the interests of consumer scientists and home economists throughout the United Kingdom.

Concept First assisted with the development of their On-line Freelance Directory database.

Resource Management

This project involved the development of a database to be used in the Information Service department to plan and track the resources on IT projects.

Concept First were asked to assist with the development of this database, particularly with the design and development of the management reports.

We also developed an Access database to replace the manual procurement processes. This is now used by the Environment Agency to manage the purchasing of equipment and services.
